Ville Pynssi (b. 1978) has quickly established himself as one of the best drummers in Finland these days. Pynssi, originally from Kokkola, Finland, proved his skills at the latest when he was accepted to the jazz department of Sibelius Academy in 2010 after spending years playing in several theatre orchestras and with many top musicians in Finland. In 2005-2006 Pynssi spent a year as an exchange student in Paris, studying in La Conservatoire National Superiour de la Musique under many top musicians of jazz, such as Riccardo Del Fra and Daniel Humair.
Pynssi is known as a talented, versatile and edged musician and is thus one of the busiest drummers in Finland. He has performed around the world with several internationally distinguished artists and bands, such as Phil Markowitz, Rick Margitza, Severi Pyysalo, Jukka Perko, Jarmo Savolainen, Miles Griffith, Jukka Tolonen and UMO Jazz Orchestra.
