Ville Pynssi (b. 1978) has quickly established himself as one of the sought after drummers in Finland these days. Pynssi, originally from Kokkola, Finland, proved his skills at the latest when he was accepted to the jazz department of Sibelius Academy in 2010 after spending years playing in several theatre orchestras and with many top musicians in Finland. In 2005-2006 Pynssi spent a year in Paris, studying in La Conservatoire National Superiour de la Musique under supervision of many top musicians of jazz, such as Riccardo Del Fra and Daniel Humair.
Pynssi is known as a talented, versatile and edged musician and is thus one of the busiest drummers in Finland. He has performed around the world with several internationally distinguished jazz artists, such as Avishai Cohen, Seamus Blake, Phil Markowitz, Rick Margitza, Anders Jormin, Severi Pyysalo, Timo Lassy, Jukka Perko, Jarmo Savolainen, Miles Griffith, Jukka Tolonen and UMO Jazz Orchestra.
Past few years have seen Pynssi working also with top chart pop artist in Finland. Vesala, Ellinoora and Sami Saari to name a few.
